Statement of Purpose
The purpose of SANPPAA is to promote the profession of Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) in the Greater Sacramento area. Our goal is to function as a coalition for local area NPs and PAs, providing a networking forum to promote professional growth. We do this by our active support of governmental and legislative activities that expand and improve the scope of practice of NPs and PAs, strengthen the image of the professions by providing a role in health care that is responsive to the health care needs of the consumer.
The following specific objectives will be pursued to more fully achieve the purpose of SANPPAA as set forth in Article I:
- To solicit and encourage membership of all NPs/PAs in the greater Sacramento Region.
- To support the concerns and interests, and promote communication and professional achievement of NPs and PAs in the Greater Sacramento region.
- To promote and protect the economic and general welfare of NPs and PAs in the region.
- To review and clarify the role of NPs and PAs to the general public.
- To share career opportunities and provide continuing education programs for NPs, PAs, and the public.
- To recommend and support legislation and government proposals which improve health care for the people of California and provide greater opportunity for midlevel providers to contribute to that care.
